Enemies in Fallout 76

Tags:

Looking over the gameplay footage of Fallout 76 there was no shortage of new creatures unveiled in the footage. Here we will break down each of the new creatures or robots, we saw and see if we can make some sense of it all. Let’s organize this by taking the lower level creatures to the higher level creatures. Some of the images of the creatures below!

Mutated Bull Frog.
Shown for a short time, this looks to be a bullfrog that has grown to a dangerous level. Whether or not this will be a aggressive creature or one similar to a Rad-Stag, we are not sure of. We can be pretty sure it will be a low level creature in regards to power and XP.

Liberator MKII
From what I read, that is the name of this robot. They appear to have a swarming capabilities like spiders or ants. They appear to have the ability to shoot energy beams and are always in a large group. These will be low level enemies, but in large groups could be overwhelming.

Ghoul, Crone, Undead
Ripped straight out of a horror film, this creature looks to be a form of undead, or “should be dead” much like the Ghouls of Fallout. We are not sure if this is a higher tier of ghoul, that travels alone, or possibly the new look for Ghouls in Fallout 76. Hard to place a level for this creature, it could be low level, or even a higher level if they give it special powers.

Mutants
Super Mutants should not exist as of yet, FEV was never truly used until around 2248. We are guessing these are going to be early forms and mutations of the creatures. Whether they will be as wide spread and powerful we don’t know. Unfortunately it did look just like Super Mutants in Fallout 4, that is disappointing for the lore aspect. These will be low level creatures with a choice few being high level.

Rad-Wasp
Makes complete sense to make a Rad-Wasp. Surprised it is not something that already exists. Much like Stingers and bloatflies, they will be hard to kill without VATS (if VATS even exists). Most of these creatures carry a hive on it’s back (from what we seen) and probably will have a horde style attack. Our guess it will be a low to mid level creature, that can be formidable when in a group.

Long-Tongued Mutant
This creature seems to be a mutant of sorts, one with spikes protruding from its back. It’s most notable feature is its long tongue, which it uses to attack the player at a distance. The one in the trailer is seen attacking in a city area, using its two large forelegs to move quickly across the ground.

Gas-Mask Hooded Man?
Here is another creature or man that is pretty damn creapy. One thing Bethesda did was add some really unique and less run of the mill creatures in this game. It did not move much in the trailer so again, it will be hard to judge what it can do. Our guess will be a mid level creature(s) that would populate somewhere. Could be formidable when a group congregates.

Mega Sloth
In the trailers we see one very identifiable creature besides the Grafton Monster, and that was the Mega Sloth. The cute slow cuddly creature has now turned into a fast moving beast with 2-3foot claws. I can’t imagine a swipe from a sloth is going to tickle. One can only imagine that they transformed after the bombs fell, maybe an evolutionary type change… but it would have to be from a Zoo or a refuge that harbored these animals. These creatures look to be mid-level creature for power and XP.

Snarly Yow
Filled with razorsharp teeth, this monster is dogshaped, but has a harder warn skin. The name comes from legends of a creature that lurked on teh side of the roads that would terrify passerby’s and would disappear on a moments notice. With little to go on, we have to surmise this will be a mid level creature in power and XP.

Death Claw
Some say the Deathclaw should not be in the game yet, but these creatures were actually developed before the great war. So their appearance will fit into the lore just fine. We all know the creature. They are high level and in some cases boss level creatures.

The Scorchbeast
This is the creature that multiple players were having trouble killing. It is a dragon like creature, with the ability to charge and expell blue waves from its mouth. Since it can fly that could be an element that could cause trouble for Melee players. The “moth man” creature people might of thought was on the misty road scene with a guy holding a minigun, is actually a Scorch Beast. This might not be a boss level, but it will be a high level creature and a bitch to take out.

Grafton Monster
A large hulking beast that just destroys everything in its path. It appears to have no head, but has huge wide ranging arms, large frame, stands about 9 feet tall and white deathlike skin. It is a meat eater, so his attacks is more survival than just being a dick. The beast was named after a place called Grafton, and the folk dubbed this creature their “bigfoot.” They say a low whistle can be heard moments before it’s arrival. We can safely assume this is going to be a boss level creature for Fallout 76.

Mothman
Since the legend of the Mothman indicates this “being” has many different forms and shapes, it is hard to pinpoint what (if any) of the creature reveals were the mothman. The flying creature (shown) could be a Scorchbeast, or a version of the Mothman. Reports indicate that this creature will stalk you (possible jumpscares) and eventually you will have to confront it. We do not know any of its powers or what it can actually do, but it is a no brainer this will be a boss level creature.
