Consoles Buyers Guide

Tags:

It gets confusing. I know, I am in the market for a console. Last year I bought a PC that blows the doors off of anything a console has to offer (yes even the scorpio), but I am finding out the PC does not get all the titles. With the release of Horizon Zero Dawn, and the up coming Rock EA Star title Red Dead Redemption 2 I figured it was time to consider a console. So let me pass my research on to you… If you secretly stick your little wanker in the USB slot of your console, then I will ask you to move on fanboy. There will be no ignorant opinionated bullshit here, just the facts. I have listed the latest and greatest consoles available for each of the 3 systems. So… let’s have at it.

Summary

It is no surprise PS4 Pro beats out all consoles on just about everything… but that also includes the highest price. Playstation is really the leader in just about everything right now ranging from power to affordability and its massive title library. Things could change when Scorpio takes center stage this Fall as Microsoft continues its chase. The Nintendo switch is going to sell. I relate Nintendo to Apple and people will buy it whether its a bag of cap or a gleaming bar of gold.

The Hard Core Gamer
The PS4 Pro is a no brainier. The true hard core gamer would probably have a monster PC rig, but his console of chose will be Playstation, because most Xbox exclusives come out on the PC.

The Casual Gamer
In a year I will say the Nintendo Switch. But for now either the PS4 Slim or Xbox One Slim will do just fine. Lower price, good consoles and great libraries.

The Once In a While Gamer
Being able to work with the PS4 interface and Xbox, as of now Xbox has the better of the two IMO. So for quick maneuvering from game to Netflix, Youtube… I would chose the Xbox. Plus its usually 50 dollars cheaper.
