From Robot customization to new questlines to new locations, Automatron is much more robust than the 10 dollar price dictates.
The DLC starts in typical Bethesda fashion, just slapping you with a questline. The DLC takes roughly 6-7 hours if you loot places and enjoy the questline. If you are looking to sprint through you can do it around 3-4 hours. The battling can be challenging and just like most enemies in the Commonwealth, each one of these robots has unique skills.
Some robots you want to steer clear from when they “die” while others you have to get in close and personal to do the damage. If you plan on sneaking anytime in this DLC you are going to be sadly mistaken. The robots do not sneak, they don’t even try and they are loud. Very, very loud.
Every time you grab loot from a robot, if it is a new part of a robot you learn a new customization skill for building robots. It is fairly limited but has the potential to be extremely vast. This leads you to create a robot workbench of sorts where you can create and customize robots. As you build your inventory of knowledge of different and unique robot parts, you can end up with a unique robot. As an example, I had a teddy bear for a head for the last robot I created.
For a 10 dollar pricetag, the game is well worth it. With the amount of content, the diverse things you can do and the kick ass robots you can create the DLC rates at 9.0 out of 10.0. If you have the season pass this is very very close to 10.0. I really can’t wait for the rest of their DLC!
