Fire Emblem Fates Review

I enter the world of Fire Emblem once more. This time I’m greeted by a royal family of my own instead of being the leading Tactician I normally am. So many drawbacks soon follow. As you start this game you are the sole focus of the entire game. Not only are you getting stronger to become one of the most fierce warriors in the land, you are also the main dragon in the game. Fire emblem is known to lead you into a fierce dragon fight toward the end of almost all their games. So this time I personally felt being the strongest and a dragon was like they wanted to make the game easy for you and like they didn’t want to try being a bit original like it normally is.

Follow the path of Birthright or Conquest. Conquest being the harder version of the game. Both games mostly follow the same story just changing the family you align yourself with. Then play through over half the game trying to figure out what or who the main antagonist is. Fighting battle after battle with no feeling of any accomplishment or even progression in the story at all. All in all I lost interest in most of the game by chapter 17. I felt like I was playing a variation of maps rather than a story driven game.
