It appears that Titanfall 2’s developers, Respawn Entertainment aren’t exactly done with the game yet. As we reported with their newest DLC, Titanfall 2 will be getting a new mode very shortly and it’s a lovely co-op mode.
Titled Frontier Defense, this is a up to 4 player co-op mode that originated in the first Titanfall a few months after its release which will have you and up to 4 friends playing a horde style mode where you must defend a Harvester from 5 waves of increasingly challenging foes and according to Respawn, they will be introducing new enemy types.
To start, there will be 5 difficulty settings:
- Easy
- Regular
- Hard
- Master
- and Insane
and will also feature 5 maps:
- Homestead
- Forwardbase Kodai
- War Games
- Blackwater Canal
- and Rise
with more being promised in the future. In addition to the update, Respawn will be including a new map titled Township to Titanfall 2’s Live Fire Mode.
The update, being titled Operation Frontier Shield will be released for free on July 25th for Playstation, PC and Xbox. One final item, Respawn will be hosting another FREE weekend July 28th – 30th for players to come back or for those who haven’t played (seriously??? check out our review here).
